This point is a park on a kind of barrier island which separates Superior Bay and the open waters of Lake Superior. This is one of the few locations where real wave sailing can be accomplished when the conditions are right, but it can also be rather tranquil. Beginners may also sail on the bay side where there is no danger of the open waters of the lake.
